The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) condemns the order from 26 April 2016 of the Presnenskyi District Court in Moscow, Russian Federation,extending the house arrest of the Director of the Library of Ukrainian Literature in Moscow, Nataliya Sharina, for another three months until 29 July 2016.

On 23 April 2016 in Kyiv, Ukraine, the Chair of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) International Educational Coordinating Council (IECC), Oksana A. Wynnyckyj-Yusypovych, met with the newly appointed Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Liliia Hrynevych, to discuss areas of possible cooperation between the Ministry and the IECC within the framework set out in the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Ukrainian World Congress and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Thirty years ago, on 26 April 1986, the nuclear facility in Chornobyl, Ukraine, was the site of the world’s worst nuclear disaster which took the lives of 28 reactor staff and emergency responders, displaced hundreds of thousands of individuals, and affected the long-term health and well-being of millions exposed to the radioactive fallout.
